Tissue culture plants are live aquarium plants that have been grown in a purpose built sterile laboratory, inside sterile containers allowing them to be moved easily and are free from pests, disease and algae pathogens.

Before planting, rinse off all of the Agar (jelly) and separate the tissue culture into smaller bunches.

Tissue Culture plants can survive for quite some time in the containers but it is recommended using them as soon as possible to get the most freshness from the plants.

Riccia fluitans is a lovely mostly floating style plant that is generally found almost everywhere in the Aquatic industry.

Medium lighting required for Riccia to grow well.

It is also commonly tied onto rocks or driftwood using cotton thread/ net/ fishing line and this will soon grow attaching to the rock or driftwoosd and will be engulfed by new growth.

This plant can also be used as a ground cover where it can rapidly form a nice bright green lawn, this can abe tricky to acheive so be sure to research best options for this.

When used as a floating plant it can be used to provide fry or shrimp shelter. The versatility along with its ease of growth is the reason why this plant is a favourite amongst hobbyists with many different options to grow this plant.
